THE PROCESS:

In order to establish the thick and thin relationship between Miss Nelson’s glyphs, classic serif fonts such as Didot and Bodoni were examined. Consideration was put into the formation of the serifs, and the pieces were cut and used to form sequential letters in order to maintain consistency, and then edited later to ensure stability within the letterform.

Special consideration was given to the proportional relationship between the uppercase and small caps glyphs, to ensure that the thick and thin relationships correlate with each other at different scales.
